Yes, I realize it's the second week of November, but hey, I have two kids! We were invited to a church friend's house on Halloween night for a bit of trick-or-treating. This was once again in the Woodlands – home to the American school and therefore a huge American expat population. It was great fun, since 1. I never trick-or-treated as a kid and 2. We haven't been around folks who celebrate this holiday in a long while. (I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving!). The streets were packed with kids of all ages from baby fairies sleeping on daddy's shoulder to Adults still living the dream (myself included). Violet didn't really catch on until Jamey gave her a piece of her candy, then he couldn't pull her away. I think they ended up doing a couple trips around the block! V was dressed as a gypsy, I decided to change the original outfit (which she wore to her friend Pierce's Halloween bash – see below) to a more authentic look, besides the fact that I didn't want her showing that much skin in public. We were amongst friends and inside the whole time for the first party! Her outfit Halloween night was a big hit! There was no guessing about what she could possibly be. :) J went as a castaway who was bitten by a shark – the shark was played by, Marek. And I dressed as a gypsy/pirate not really sure what I was, but it was fun...
At Pierce's party. My mom brought this outfit when my parents visited. It was mine when I was a kid!

Marek the Shark (He now weighs 14 lbs/6.3 kg at 10 weeks old, Violet weighed 14 lbs at 4 months!)
We just got back from the Pumpkin Patch here in the Woodlands–the Woodlands is on the north side of the island, and home to the American school, which had the pumpkin patch. Boy, was it hot but so much fun! Of all the pics I took, I think this one is the best. Hard to get little ones to stay still when there are so many pumpkins to pick up and explore! Violet is really into 'big' and 'little' and there were lots of both. This is the closest we get to fall around here, and it's been several years since we've gotten to celebrate fall in the northern hemisphere (it's springtime in Melbourne). I thought of you Sheri when we visited!!! Miss you sister!!! Below is Violet at 12 months, her auntie took us to a pumpkin patch in San Diego.
Ps. Don't worry I did take photos of my son, just had to share this great pic right away!!! More soon...
Nana B and Pop were here for Violet's birthday, and we were so glad they could celebrate with us. V turned 2 on September 20th, and I am happy to report that she can tell you her name and how old she is if you ask. She will also tell you about the Wall-E cake she had – hey, she asked for one, so I couldn't refuse. :0) Violet got a huge doll house from her daddy, a tea set from mummy, books and dresses from NanaB and Pop. So exciting!!! She got more presents throughout the next week including an awesome 'Thomas' train set from Grandma and Grandpa Unruh (more on that soon). Thanks everyone for the lovely gifts, Violet is enjoying every one!!!
